What is ČBALUF?
The Budweiser Amateur League (Českobudějovická amatérská liga Ultimate Frisbee) was created by the Budweiser team 3sb in order to spread the word about ultimate and start a tradition of organizing tournaments also for less exprerienced players and beginners. Originally, it was meant for teams purely from the town of Budweis, however, as teams from other towns expressed their interest, as well, ČBALUF became an amateur tournament for any team that fulfills the registration requirements which isn't all that complicated.
ČBALUF is not a league as such. It consists of a series of three one or two-day tournaments organized throughout the year in Budweis. The format depends on the number of teams that sign up. There are two outdoor tournaments in spring and the fall and one winter indoor tournament. There is no obligation for the teams to participate in all of these. Players between 5 to 99 years of age may participate and each team can have up to two experienced players (who cannot play simultaneously during a point). A single player without a team can also register and will be added to a team with low numbers. The tournament format will be specified by the organizer in advance before each event. Registration is carried out electronically and the application must include the name of the team, as well as the name of the captain. Besides honor, a mention in the winner's list and immeasurable glory, the winner shall also receive a beautiful challenge cup.
Indoor tournaments
The format of the indoor tournament is always EASY MIX – 5 on 5 with at least one guy or one girl playing during a point. The length of the games will be specified before the individual tournament based on the number of teams that sign up. The official WFDF rules shall be followed and emphasis is put on respecting the Spirit of the Game rules.
Important rule: After a pull the disc can be dropped without a penalization, the team on offense can pick up the disc and continue playing. Shall the disc, however, pass the back or side line of the endzone in the height lower than 2 meters, the team on offense must start from the point where the disc has left the field. If the height is more than 2 meters the player can take the disc to brick mark = middle of the front line of the endzone.
Outdoor tournaments
Outdoor tournaments are played in two different formats.
a) EASY MIX – 5 on 5 with at least one guy or one girl playing during a point. The length of the games will be specified before the individual tournament based on the number of teams that sign up. The official WFDF rules shall be followed and emphasis is put on respecting the Spirit of the Game rules.
Caution: The indoor rule on dropping the pull does not apply here. A dropped pull is considered a turnover and the team who started on defense becomes the team on offense.
b) EASY MIX – 7 on 7 with at least one guy or one girl playing during a point.

What is Ultimate Frisbee?
Ultimate Frisbee is a sport where two teams compete to get the disc into the opponent's endzone by making passes. When the disc falls to the ground or is intercepted by the opponent, it is a turnover and the possesion changes. A point is scored when one of the players has the disc under control in the endzone. An important part of the sport is the Spirit of the Game. It is a form of evaluation of the teams for their fairness and pure sportsmanship. At the end of a tournament a Spirit of the Game prize is awarded to a team with the most votes from other teams or the highest SotG average per game.
